Salalah braces for heavy rains

Salalah – It rained moderately in the late morning hours on Sunday as residents and citizens of Salalah prepared themselves for the adverse weather conditions that have been predicted for the region.
According to latest reports, Al Mahra region in Oman is expected to get heavy rains by this evening with a wind speed of 70km per hour. The sea state of Scotora Island is also very high with the maximum wave height of 10 metres. This is island is expected to get around 500ml of rainfall.
Schools here have been closed for two days and have been converted into evacuation shelter rooms.
