GUtech team wins women futsal championships

MUSCAT: GUtech women futsal team kept its slate clean to emerge champions in the Oman University Sports Committee women futsal competition held at Al Amal Club in Muscat last weekend. Keeping their undefeated tag in tact, GUtech thrashed Sultan Qaboos University 3-1 in the final.
The best scorer trophy went to GUtech’s team captain, Basma al Rashdi.

Oman University team set for Jordan TOURNEY
The Oman University Sports Committee is preparing to send a women futsal national team abroad, for the first time ever. Five GUtech students were selected to train with the national coach, Haroon al Bartamani from the Oman Football Federation, for the next two weeks. GUtech will host the first training sessions with coach Haroon at the sports hall.
“We are proud of the selected students and wish them all the best success and good performance to make it to the national team,” said Gunhild Pfaff, sports officer at GUtech.
